David Egea Arrebola

David has a PhD from University of Oxford and a BSc and MSc in Chemistry from Autonomous University of Barcelona. He is currently working on Rh-catalysed asymmetric reactions. Outside the lab, he enjoys dancing salsa, doing sport, reading and cooking.

DPhil Students

tilly

Matilda Joyce

3rd year DPhil at Merton college. Tilly has an MSci degree from the University of Cambridge, she is currently working on Rh-catalysed asymmetric reactions. Outside the lab she likes dancing, sewing, history podcasts and the sunshine.

Hyewon Han

2nd year DPhil at Keble college. Hyewon completed her MRes at the University of York in the Fairlamb and Wilan's group, working on PEPPSI catalysed Suzuki-Miyaura cross-coupling reactions. She is currently working on 1,3-addition in Rh-catalysed asymmetric allylic arylations. Outside of the lab, I enjoyed cooking, travelling/shopping, socialising with friends and watching movies.

Shanjun Huang

Shan is a second-year DPhil student at St Hilda's College. He holds an MSci degree in Chemistry from the University of Nottingham, where he completed an industrial placement year at GSK and conducted his final research project under the supervision of Prof. Ross Denton. Following his degree, he worked as a Process Chemist at Pfizer for 2.5 years, developing novel manufacturing routes for drug candidates under clinical evaluation. His DPhil research focuses on Rh-catalysed asymmetric reactions. Outside the lab, he enjoys bouldering, cycling, and video games.

doug miller

Douglas Miller

1st year DPhil at Linacre College. Doug holds a joint MSc from both Université de Lille and Universität Leipzig as part of the Erasmus Mundus “Advanced Spectroscopy in Chemistry” programme. He is currently working on improving challenging asymmetric transition-metal catalysed transformations using data-driven approaches. Outside the lab, he enjoys traveling, reading, and comedy podcasts.

Yifei Wu

1st Year DPhil in New College. Previously a MChem student in St Catz, Oxford, Yifei completed his Part II in MDS group working on metal mediated visible light catalyzed [2+2] cycloaddition. He is currently working on Rh catalyzed asymmetric hydroarylation of bicyclic systems. Outside the lab, he enjoys jogging, travelling, and video games.

Roman Pereira

I'm originally from East London, and I completed my BA in Natural Sciences and MSci in Chemistry at Churchill College, University of Cambridge. For my master's project, I worked in the Phipps group, where I developed two novel catalysts for asymmetric aryl Suzuki couplings. My academic interests are in organic chemistry, specifically metal-catalysed coupling reactions and cycloadditions. Outside of my studies, I enjoy palaeontology, playing football, practicing karate, and both playing and making video games.

Part II / Visiting Students
